Community Involvement

Hello, I am Chelz Bowen, the owner and operator of Top it OFF, Funnel Cakes a growing business located in Griffin, GA. While Top it OFF seeks to create positive vibrations through fun eats, we are also committed to community involvement.

Our mission is to provide support to key areas that effect the communities we serve. With that, we have identified three core initiatives; No Bullying, Juvenile Delinquency and Sexual Abuse to focus on.

During my adolescent years I experienced all of these obstacles and found a way to overcome and learn from them, so my goal is to help those who are struggling with similar issues.

As a business owner, I knew I had to determine a true way to make a difference. By partnering with organizations that give back and support the youth in need I am focused on being apart of the solution.

NO BULLYING

The saying goes, “if you see something, say something”. Which is why Top it OFF, Funnel Cakes is partnering with Middle schools (through an annual rotating schedule of various Metro Atlanta areas) to identify the best programs and support systems needed to bring awareness to this ever-growing problem.

FROM INCARCERATION TO IMPACT

As a teenager, I found myself on the wrong side of a life-altering decision, incarcerated at the Martha K. Glaze Youth Detention Center for three months following a violent altercation. That chapter, though painful, became the turning point that reshaped my life. Today, I use my story not as a mark of shame, but as a symbol of resilience and redemption. Through Top It Off, I’m committed to showing youth-especially those who feel forgotten or judged, that your past doesn’t define your future. From serving funnel cakes to creating Sweet STEM programs and youth mentorship opportunities, I stand as proof that transformation is possible. I didn’t just turn my life around, I built a legacy meant to uplift others.

SEXUAL ABUSE

The goal for this initiative is to provide a sense of security and safety to adolescent victims of sexual abuse. By working with organizations like A Friends House (others to be determined) Top it OFF, Funnel Cakes will concentrate on giving these victims the true support and resources needed to rise above the abuse.
